Ward off the cold weather with this soup that can be made in the crock pot
or on the stovetop.
4 cups chicken broth
14.5 oz diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cups carrots, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup onions, diced
1 bay leaf
3 tbsp tomato paste
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/3 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp whiskey
16 oz cheese tortellini
Over a medium heat, combine all the ingredients except for the cream, hot
sauce, whiskey and cheese tortellini. When the vegetables have softened, blend
preferably with a stick blender. Stir in cream. Add in hot sauce and whiskey ~
amounts to your taste. Finally add in the cheese tortellini and cook for
another 12 to 15 minutes.
